When To Call Emergency Plumber
Salisbury Plumber is working 24/365 and you can always rely on them when in need. However, there will be occasions when it is impossible to wait for a professional assistance as such plumbing problems as burst pipes or broken toilets demand immediate resolution. We’ll describe here some DIY solutions that might come handy without knowing too much about plumbing itself. But keep in mind – these tricks should only help your problem not make things worse!
In case you come home from work and notice that water is leaking under the sink, there are three possible causes for this:
a) The pipe might be broken; however it can also happen due to corroded or old metal fittings. This kind of problem requires a professional assistance as you need to solder new parts onto the existing system. If you don’t know how to do it yourself, contact your local plumber and ask him if he would like one more job in addition!
b) Water collecting under the cabinets means that washer seal needs replacement – just take off both knobs beneath faucet handles (and remember which goes where!) and unscrew them with Allen key supplied by previous owner/seller. Put any plastic bag over screwdriver so not to scratch it and put away new washers.
c) If the leak is not coming from where you just unscrewed, check for puddle of water that might be under washing machine or dishwasher – this means that drain trap needs replacement as well! Disconnect all hoses draining system by turning off corresponding valves located at their ends (look carefully so to avoid mixing them up!). Unscrew nuts holding tubes together with a wrench and pull out old drain traps. Install new ones in reverse order so to have everything working again within minutes!
